The 4ws system in 91 Preludes is 100% mechanical, so it is very reliable, like all things Honda. I wouldn't worry about it at all. Just take the car for a test drive and make sure everything works right. The 4WS system isn't any more likely to be a problem than any other part of the car. Preludes are very well made, so if you buy a car that has been maintained, it will last a long time. Check for rust and for obvious mechanical problems. Outside of that, you should be fine.
