Seat Belts and other loose items...

Post by elroto »

Hello all fellow ludeheads,

The drivers seat belt is not retracting once I unbuckle. Is this a spring wound pull up motor or electric? I noticed that the fuse panel has a fuse for seatbelts? Is this just for the safety sensor? Thanks ahead for any thoughts or help! :D

Hi Jose,

The fuse is probably for the seatbelt sensor, there isn't a motor on your seat belt mechanism. The seatbelt retracts thanks to a spring system. It's very possible that your seat belt spring is clogged up with hair/dust/grime and just isn't functioning smoothly. I think you can take the plastic trim off the seatbelt spool and see what's what.
