s3 gear

This might be a stupid question or it might be a really good one i dont know. but i have an automatic 90 2.1 . and when im starting the car the light for the s3 gear turns on for a second. i dont know what that that means. if it does mean anything. ive never noticed it before so if you guy can help me out thanks.

To clarify: you're saying that the light just comes on for a second and then shuts off?

Yeah exactly. rite when the engine is starting up te s3 gear lights up. then it shuts off a bout one second after the car is running.

Ok. I did some research, and the S4 light is supposed to come on for 2 seconds when the ignition is turned on. Thus, I think you're getting the desired behaviour.

You said this was new, so maybe there was previously a problem that has since gone away. I found these PDFs to be helpful:
