How do I tell which engine i have? All i have is the cc (1958)

Welcome to Prelude Driver and to the boards...... Glad to have you here.

To ID the engine you have in your car, it's as simple as raising the hood and looking.

Look under the hood on the engine, to the left of the manifold heat shield...... you might have to wipe grease and/or grime off the area to see it, but it should be engraved in the metal there.

And if you have more questions, things you have yet to find, etc. just stick around. Spiffy is one of the most knowledgeable around on the 3rd Gen........ I'm pretty good with the 4th and what we may not know on the rest, we make up for in extreme effort to find out those things we don't!

Don't hesitate to ask anything......just because it may not have been covered here already doesn't mean one of us won't know the answer.

And I second what has already been said; we're happy to help everyone with their questions. Don't be afraid to ask. You'll be surprised how many of the questions you ask are questions we once had ourselves.

That's such a great way to run a place tho. To actually help people and not make fun of them. Other places do not have many people willing to jump in and help you. But they do have plenty of people who are ready to literally jump ON you. You dig?

That's pretty much the attitude we've built this place around. Be helpful and courteous, or go hang out someplace else. Our members have done a great job of upholding these principles.

Too many forums blast new folks with statements like "use the search, noob". In my opinion, this is both rude, and totally unhelpful. Most of them would probably never say something like that in person, but somehow to say it online is okay? Sad to think how many budding enthusiasts have had their hopes quashed by such vile statements.

Bottom line is that this board exists to promote an interest in Honda Preludes. It's built, funded and maintained by a guy who loves Preludes, and we're all here to promote an interest in owning and maintaining preludes (or other cars, we'll help anyone). My personal experience has been that owning and maintaining vehicles is a great way to socialize with friends and learn a lot of useful things along the way. Wrenching cars with buddies beats facebooking and xbox any day. If this board helps even a handful of people, young or old, to start turning wrenches and taking pride in vehicle ownership, then I think it worthwhile.
