My girlfriend has a 1998 prelude that has been having headlight problems. The left bulb burned out. She got a new one at Auto Zone and the guy there installed it. A week later, both sides only work on high beam. The low beam lights have a low glow to them, but not burned out. Checked fuses and they are good. What is likely to be the problem? Bad bulb? Would this effect the other side? What does the dimmer relay do?
Any info is much appreciated!!

Sounds like a bad bulb to me. I'd return the bulb that was installed and try a new one.
The dimmer relay is for the dimmer inside the car that dims the dash and interior lighting.

i would check and make sure that the fuse for the lights are the right size, but if its doing on both sides its more like not enough ground. or a voltage drop somewhere.
