2 switches under steering column

Post by icu2gel58 »

What are the 2 switches located under the steering column on my 2000 Prelude....?...Which by the way I just purchased after owning only American cars for 30 years....and no, there is no comparison...I love my LUDE..!!!!

Hmm. Without seeing them I can't really say. As far as I know Honda didn't place any switches under the steering column....the steering wheel tilt lever is on the left side.

Chances are they're aftermarket switches installed by the previous owner. I would lean towards valet or bypass switches for an aftermarket alarm system.....that's usually where they are placed or down at the bottom of the dash above the knees, on the right or left.

Any chance you can post a picture of these mystery switches?

Glad you finally got a REAL car! ;) I think you'll be really happy with your Prelude.

Change the oil, change the timing belts and do the regular routine maintenance, and you still have this car in 15 years or so.

I was also gonna say that they are maybe for an alarm system. Could be a factory switch next to an aftermarket switch.
