Brake Disk Size

Post by 96vtec »

Can anyone help me with a disk size for a '96 VTEC. Are the fronts larger than the backs?

I'm pretty sure that Honda lists the VTEC discs as being 15" in the front. The fronts are bigger than the back.

Why do you ask?

Sorry for the late reply........ I've been away.

I read somewhere that the fronts were 15" , but it didn't make sense to me. I thought the fronts were 11, and the back 101/2 or thereabouts.
I was asking because when I ordered disks and pads from the local big name parts store, they asked me the sizes, because they were not listed. I told them to order the larger discs for the front and the smaller one for the back--hope I'm right.
I'm going to tear them down on Monday after the parts come in, so I'll post the sizes when I measure them.

My curiosity has bee satisfied:
-rear disks are 10-1/4
-fronts are 11

Thanks, 96VTEC!

This is good information. I wonder why Honda was listing them as being larger. 15 seemed big to me too, but it's what it says in the Honda catalog. Weird.

Oh well. Now we know.

Spiff, what bloody catalog are you looking at?! 15 inch...?
That's a big-ass rotor bro.

The front's are 11 and 3/32" and the rear are 10-15/64".
I know the question has been answered, but you also know how I have to be right and exact.
