1985 Rear-End Service?
Just inherited a 1985 Prelude Automatic from my Mother-In-Law which I know nothing about so I took it to Grease Monkey for an Oil Change and Lube. Upon completion, I inquired if they checked the level of lube in the rear-end differential and the response was "I don't think you can service the rear-end on this one but we did add a little auto-transmission fluid" My question is: Is ths correct? Do I need to have the oil checked in the rear-end and how do I explain to a modern day mechanic how to do this? All I know about the car is that it says dual carberators under the hood???

As your 1985 Prelude is a front-wheel drive car, there isn't a rear differential. The differential for the front wheels is encased in the transmission housing.

Thanks SpiffyQuido, I did not know that. I was assuming that hump in the floor was a drive shaft. Thx again!
