i just woke up to a beer bottle thrown thru my back window and am having a heck of a time finding a decent price to replace it....so far i have gotten quotes for $600 - $950 dollars !!!! Yikes !!! any suggestions???

Yikes indeed.
That will be an expensive piece of glass.
The only thing I can think to suggest is to try and get a back window from an auto wrecker and then have it installed. At least then the cost of the glass will be much less.

Do you not have insurance on your car?
In most states, insurance will cover glass damage for a lot less than vehicle damage. Deductible is either waived or at most $50 bucks US.
Call your insurance company and ask their policy on glass breakage. If you have the coverage, they can find the glass and will usually come to you to install it.
Same goes for window chips from rocks, etc.
