So your current engine is stamped F22A? Is it OBD1 or OBD2?

Most of what I'm reading suggests that the F22B is OBD1, because it's a JDM engine. If your F22A is OBD1, this should make the swap pretty easy because you won't have to deal with a bunch of electrical problems.

You're getting an F22B right? Not a F22B1 or F22B2?

Do you know yet if the transmissions are the same between those two? They should be. If the trannies mate up, and if both engines are OBD1, the swap should be a breeze. We can dig deeper though.

The stock ECU for the JDM F22B is the P39. I'd use that if you can get one. You should currently have a P12 ECU for your engine. Both of these ECUs are OBD1 ECUs, so you may even be able to use the P12 that you have. If you do go that way though, you may need to change the tune on the ECU to work with a DOHC engine.

There's some good info on this site:

Does that help?

also was wandering, i heard you had to have a knock sensor installed? or people talkin about installing a knock sensor.... if i get the ecu that already has the knock sensor(the p39) and do the f22b will i be alright on that?

Yeah, you should be. As long as the engine has the knock sensor installed, which it must.
