USDM vs JDM manifolds/exhausts

Post by DJBlobby »

Hi guys, I am thinking of getting an OBX manifold and downpipe for my lude like the one in this link:

OBX Exhaust Header 92-96 Honda Prelude VTEC 2.2L NEW!!! on eBay (end time 08-Aug-09 18:33:27 BST)

Can anyone tell me whether or not this will fit a JDM BB1? Are there any differences between USDM VTECs and JDM VTECs?

Unfortunately, I have no idea about USDM ludes cos I live in the UK, and here, a UK cat is about 5 inches longer than a JDM cat and the flange on the downpipes are different. Are there differences like this with a USDM?

Cheers,
Darren
PS - here is a recent pic of my lude :)

Hi Darren,

That's a tough question. The flanges on the block are most likely the same, so I think you only need to be concerned about the cat end of the header. I don't know about whether there is a difference between JDM cat lengths and USDM cat lengths.

There's a user here called RedRacer that knows a lot about 4th gen cars. He might be able to help you.
