Overheating/Rough Idle/Weak acceleration Problem: Timing?
I have a 1989 Honda Prelude that has been running rough, overheating, and accelerating poorly, especially on hills. There does not seem to be a water leak, have adjusted the timing, but it keeps slipping? This problem is driving me crazy, help me solve it so I can just get back to driving ... without the crazy. Your expertise is greatly appreciated.
P.S.
Thanks for posting the service manuals! Now I can read up, proper. ヽ(◠‿◠✿)ノ

Re: Overheating/Rough Idle/Weak acceleration Problem: Timing
How are you adjusting the timing? Do you have adjustable cam gears?
Are you loosing coolant over time? If you're having trouble with overheating I'd be concerned that you car isn't circulating water as it should or you've got a bad leak somewhere. Even if you don't see water coming out, it might be leaking into the combustion chamber through a bad head gasket. The car would blow white smoke out the back if this was the case.
