need help with heating system

hey i am having an issue with the heating system. air comes out but never heat. the hot-cold switch is significantly more loose than it used to be. i looked for the cable that controls it behind the glove box and near the firewall. didn't find anything really.

I'm not familiar with the heater control on a 5th gen, but this was discussed previously in the 4th gen forum. Perhaps you'll find it helpful:

It sounds like your hot/cold switch might be to blame. If the link above doesn't provide you any clues, we can start reviewing the manual.
