Hi, i was taking driving my prelude today, and i noticede that the engine temperature gauge has a tendency to rise all the way hot when the car is stopped, especially with the A/C on.. this kind of got me scared, and there was no fan starting. it went back down when i started moving again.. is this a common problem or could it be a faulty sensor or wat?
thanks for the help!

The cooling fans are hooked up to a control unit that I've heard fails sometimes. You should examine the wiring to your cooling fan(s) and make sure that your don't have a short or something.
I think that Honda refers to this control unit as the 'Radiator Fan Timer' and it is bolted in next to your ECU, likey incased in a small box. You can see a picture of it:
Control Unit, PGM-FI, Bulkhead
I'm not an expert on 4th gen preludes, but you may also have a seperate fuse for the cooling fan system. Check your fuse boxes for faulty fuses and replace as needed.
