1986 valve clearance adjustments

Post by VladDornes »

Hi Everybody, nice to be here. I am a real 'lude enthusiast living in Portugal. I have an '86 Prelude EX and was wondering if anyone knows the intake and exhaust adjustments (in millimeters, preferably) for my model. I'd be really grateful if you could help out.

Unless you have the DOHC engine, the measurements should be:

Intake: 0.12-0.17 mm
Exhaust: 0.25-0.30 mm

I'd also like to draw your attention to our videos section (link at the top of the screen). There is a video that demonstrates how to do this on a 3rd gen, which might help you out if you've never done it before.

Thanks for your reply, Spiffyguido. It was extremely helpful. I wasn't able to find the info anywhere else -- especially in millimeters. I made the adjustment successfully. Will certainly take a look at the videos. Am looking forward to your input on other posts I may have in the future. VladDornes
