Does anyone have speakers installed behind the thingies at either end of the dash? I would like to try, but I am afraid of wrecking them. I can't seem to find another set arond my area right now, so I have to be kind of careful.

Thanks
Connie

Well, as far as the original design, all the Preludes had tweeters behind those thingies.....which actually are speaker covers. Even the S models. Yes, I have mine and they really clean up the highs and add to the overall sound of the stereo. I have read where people have put larger speakers in as well.

I have a flow gauge installed in the left side cover in my car. There was plenty of room for it and the orginal tweeter speaker.

They are held in place with plastic pressure clips, formed into the speaker covers themselves. If you just pull on them gently and sort of slide at an angle they should come out. Pry with a flat head screwdriver if you need to. Just be careful not to mark up the dash of course.

This is the official method of how:

And if you wanted to buy the actual tweeters, if yours are missing and you want your car to be Honda stock, you can still get them from Honda, but they're a ridiculous 50-60 dollars! Illus. No. 11. in this link from Majestic Honda: http://tinyurl.com/hlvfo (shortened the link, it was way too long)

And by the way, if you want some very good factory blow up images and to find parts or part names for your car, this is a great place to start:
