Need to replace AC Compressor

That time has come my friends! The AC in my lude in no more! Diagnostics places the blame on a bad compressor. I got a quote of $1200 to fix the problem from my garage(which I do trust) is this average? Thank you for your input.

I can't comment much on the price your shop quoted you. The compressor unit itself is about $400, and there is a certain amount of labor. Plus, the system has to be recharged.
If you decide to do it yourself, make sure you get all the old fluid drained out of your system by a pro so as not to pollute and harm yourself.
