Hi Brentford,

Are you just looking for tips or do you need a procedure?

As far as tips:
When you change the timing belt, it's a great time to also change the cam oil seals and the water pump. These have similar maintenance intervals as the timing belt and are easily changed out at the same time.
When you put the belt back on, make doubly sure that you don't overtighten the belt tensioner bolt. Match the torque settings in the service manual or else you may shred the belt. It's a good idea to check that the tensioner wheel is working well as these can wear out. If the tensioner bearing seizes, you belt will break a few seconds later from the friction.

I've never come accross the odometer not working before; that's a strange issue. If your speedo is working, obviously there is a good connection between the electric speed sensor and the console. Anyone else have any ideas?
