Wats up ive been MIA for a while but im back. i was wondering how you can test your ECU. I was reading on some other forums and they say that the LED on the ecu should constantly be on. there should be no blinking at all. Thus i want to test my ECU because the LED ever turns on. Also the check engine light has never turned on, I find this akward because my car runs a little ruff.

Simple test:

If your car starts, my guess is that your ECU is fine.

Turn on your car, and while the engine is running, disconnect the coolant temperature sensor plug. It's the (usually green) one that is connected to the thermostat housing (on the engine, at the end of your upper rad hose).

When you do this, your engine should start to idle higher, and you should get a code on the ECU and your engine light come on.

If you car is running rough, a lot of things could be contributing: Dirty injectors, bad timing, worn out distributor, etc.
