Does anyone out there know of a conversion kit for a 1988 2.0si AWS to a v-tec?

There's no kit, that I know of.
Place Racing makes motor mounts for the H22A to fit into a 3rd gen prelude, but for the rest of the swap, you're on your own.
I usually suggest that Prelude owners stick with the engines that they have, as swaps such as this can be very expensive. If you really want a VTEC motor (and I don't blame you for wanting one cause they're awesome), I would suggest getting a 4th gen prelude.
If you're hooked on your 1988 (again, don't blame you, beautiful car), then start looking into an H22 swap. You'll need new mounts, ECU, Axles, and a complete long-block swap H22 engine complete with all harnesses etc.

Place Racing does not make the mounts any more. AZ Racing makes a set now. Look here for info

I checked out an H22 swap for my 89 2.0 Si 4WS, and came to the conclusion that buying the 96 VTEC which I now have was a better way to go. cost would have been up around 8-10 G's complete. I'm sure the result would have been awesome, but I have no complaints about what I have either. A tough decision!

A wise decision.
