The backseats in my prelude(3rd gen) always get wet during rain from the bottom up. So everytime someone sits down, it leaves a "wet circle" on their ass. So has anyone else experience this problem?

Yeah i experienced this before in one of my older ludes. you should check the drain plugs under the back seat, sometimes they crack over time. also when you lower the rear back seats like when you trying to enter the trunk. under the trunk lining there are two circle plates check those maybe the adhesive wore out and the water is entering from there.

rod_a88's ideas are good. You should definitely check out what he suggested.

I'd also check that your sunroof drainage is working okay. With the sunroof open, you should be able to see the drainage troughs for the sunroof. These have a bad habit of getting clogged and causing leaks in your roof and down the sides of you panels which may ultimately collect in your rear seats.

How would you know if your drainage lines were clogged. What would i look for?

I tried looking for the problem today and found 3.2 litres of water and like a pound of ice where the spare wheel well was. Took me a good 45 mins to take it all out .

That'd be the problem, I'm guessing.

There should be one (or several) drainage holes in the bottom of the spare wheel well. Make sure they're clean so that you don't get any more moisture pooling up in there.

Any molding on the bottom of your trunk floor insert?

Not really. Its kinda starting to lose its shape though. If it starts molding, I'm going to have to throw it out.

Im guessing that might be the problem as well, but I dont get how it gets under the seats. The area around the pool of water was dry so it may be coming from another source. Not sure though.

Are you sure it wasn't sloshing into the back seats under heavy braking?

Yeah, and the top was also frozen. I try not to brake hard if possible.

In that case, I predict that you either have a leak running down from the roof (likely caused by bad sunroof drainage). Similar to your trunk, I bet the drainage holes in the seat bottoms are also plugged up with junk.

You may have to take the rear seat out to investigate further.

Anyone know how to take out the back seats, or where i can find info on how. I've looked for 2 weeks and cant find anything specific.

There's a trick to this, but it's not that hard.

They are not bolted down as far as I know, but are clipped in a spring loaded fashion. Usually if you drive your knee into the edge of the seat towards the back of the car while lifting up they will pop out. Don't be afraid to give them a real wallop, as this can take some elbow grease to accomplish. Once you get it out, you'll see how they fit and can reverse the process to put them back in.
