That sounds exactly like the coolant temperature sensor problem to me.

Could this be otherwise known as a coolant temperature sensor? I have found one to order but dont want to order something i dont need.

OK I looked in the service manual and it has several thermosensors listed(on the bottom of the radiator, back of the engine block, and other such sensors elsewhere) can you tell me which one i am looking for.
Is it the one on the thermostat housing??

FYI, these are also very easy to find at a wrecker, because ones from other Honda cars will generally fit.
