Have you also verified that the plugs, wires, rotor and distributor are in good shape?

IV done the plugs wires distributer cap roter primary and secondary fuel filters air filter and still it does the same thing. Could a faltering fuel pump cause this. I have noticed a fast clicking sound coming from the fuel tank when I first start the car.

Yes, a fuel pump could cause this. The diaphragm in your fuel pump might be failing and it may not be able to supply enough fuel to the motor. This is hard to test unless you're able to put a pressure gauge on the supply line.

I was thinking it could also be a week spark from the coil. As of late it has been missing at low speeds and the idle looping by 300 rpm

That's also possible. I know you said that you replaced the distributor components, but a faulty coil will certainly also impact the quality of your spark.

Unless there is a problem with the carb itself, probably not. You've got fuel, you've got spark and you've got air. That's all you need. The only other thing that could be causing hesitation on a carbed engine is the carb itself, so be doubly sure all your vacuum lines look healthy and the carb is well adjusted.
