89 Prelude with 4WS for sale Ca. smogged and tagged

Post by california3rdgen »

Hi, I have decided to sell my 1989 Honda Prelude 2.0Si with 4 wheel steering . I'm asking $3200. I live in Fresno, Ca., and can arrange to deliver the car for the cost of gas to within ~300 miles, or further for a reasonable price.

I picked up this car about two years ago with a bad head gasket. I had the head rebuilt and resurfaced and I installed a new timing belt and water pump, radiator, thermostat, and thermo switches to make sure the problem would not happen again. The engine temperature is now always cool!

I am selling the car because my son is in college and we need the money for tuition. I'd much rather keep the car but I figure I can get another nice Honda in a few years, but the longer he waits the more expensive college will be!

The car is registered and smogged in California through June 2014. Unfortunately it has a 'salvage' title because the previous owner was rear ended and the cost to fix it was slightly more than the perceived value of the vehicle. He fixed it anyways, but then had the head gasket issue and decided to get rid of it.

The good:
new:
-head gasket
-rebuilt head
-paint (in original black)
-timing belt and rollers
-water pump
-radiator
-alternator
-front shocks
-clutch and pressure plate
-brake master cylinder
-recently recharged and repaired a/c
- Kumho Ecsta AST 205/50R15 86H

-5 speed
-145,000 miles
-no smoke
-a/c works well
-no rust - California car
-power moon roof
-Sony am/fm stereo with mp3 jack
-pw/pl/ps/pb
-fog lights
-free flow exhaust
-vented brake rotors with high performance pads
-Enkei rims (slightly banged up) with locks
-back seat folds down for extra space

The bad:
-salvage title
-cruise control not working at the moment (though it was just a few weeks ago!)
-driver's side door panel shows wear from driver entering and exiting the vehicle.
