Nissan's Batmobile

Post by RedRacer »

Hey Spiff, was wondering if you had seen this hideous thing - while it may be very cool as for as design and evolution of engineering aspects for Formula / Le Mans type cars, it's still UGLY and actually, almost silly looking.

Probably better articles out there, but this is the one I stumbled across while reading a different story.

Addendum:

Better story, more info/imagery and a video at bottom of page.

Yeah, saw a video of it on Autoblog last week. Crazy looking machine, but apparently it moves along pretty well. It'll be really interesting to see how it does this year. It's certainly not a good looking beast, but I love that the rules in Le Mans are lax enough that engineers are allowed this type of freedom.

If you haven't already, be sure to check out Audi's movie called 'Truth in 24'. I believe they also just released a sequel. Nobody thought a diesel Le Mans car would be a good idea when they introduced it, but it's worked out well for Audi.
