Driving casually ill reach a red light or stop sign, and the car will go to very low RPM's and struggle to stay on, and sometime it just dies. It will start up no problem but, im just curious to know what the issue is.

Lots of possibilities here.

Check first for ECU codes: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14

Failing that, start looking at making sure the idle is set correctly (see service manual download) or look for leaks in vacuum lines.
