before and after pic - 89 4WS

Post by california3rdgen »

Here are some before and after pics from my 89 Prelude 2.0si 5 spd w/ 4WS. I picked the car up in the summer for $600 with a bad head. I ended up doing the following:
-had head professionally redone at shop
-new water pump, timing belt.
-fixed up a bunch of exterior and interior trim pieces from wrecking yard
-new Sony stereo
-fixed failed emissions problem (took about 10 hours of tracking down a short in the system)
-repainted factory black
-one new Kumho tire (separation problem)

About $1200 later (plus a lot of hours!) I have a very nice running and looking car that handles like nothing I've every owned!
-still needs some minor interior trim, fix a rattle in the rear strut/suspension, and perhaps a rear bearing going out (noisy from left rear). But not bad!

That's gorgeous. You sir have done a properly nice job of bringing some fresh life back into the car. Great work. It's always good to see one of these cars brought back to life like that.

More pics!

thanks. It had very nice rims and some good Kumho's to begin with (one was bad). There are still a few little things - a leaking oil seal somewhere on the end of the head, an a/c that needs to be recharged, some interior bits that need attention, and the strut noise - sounds like a bushing is shot at the top of the strut. But it runs great, and of course handles like nothing else.
