auto gearbox rough
In the Honda Owner's Manual (Prelude 89) it says, regarding auto transmission fluid - use Dexron II/III. I've read lots of posts, advising to use only Honda Fluid?

Re: auto gearbox rough
I've never heard of the gear boxes being fragile, but then any car will respond badly if treated very badly.
I assume that the transmission fluid is where it should be?

Re: auto gearbox rough
ak: I have 'owner manual' of the Prelude and have to read the 'procedure' of checking the level of gearbox fluid - I've checked with engine 'off' and it shows well above the max. Maybe that's the problem!
Thanks for reply!

The directions for checking and changing the transmission fluid are on page 9-50 of the service manual. You can download the service manual from our manuals section.
