Post up the pic when you get a chance to take one. Then we can dive into the wiring diagrams.

Re: New guy with a project.
I can't say that I've ever seen a Prelude (or other Honda for that matter) with three sensors like that. The two on the right both look like coolant temperature sensors (ECT sensor or TW sensor) to me, so I wonder if someone just threaded in a second one as a repair...can't imagine why.
You must be getting ECU code 6 when you try to start the car. Are there actually two wire leads for each sensor, or do the wires join further upstream, i.e. was the second sensor just spliced into the original wiring. I'd start by getting one of them hooked up. The sensor on the bottom right is missing its plug barrel, so maybe use the center one.
Page 6-156 of the 1988 Service Manual (see manuals section above) has information on the wiring colors at play.

Beats the hell outta me!
How do you go about getting an ECU code? I've only ever really dealt with OBDII cars as far as diagnostics go.

Still waiting on the starter. I haven't had time to look into wiring diagrams or check for ECU codes. Hopefully on my day off tomorrow I'll have some spare time I can dig into it.
