Looking for a car

Post by jpskiller »

hi

Im new here i'm after a 4th gen car, seen a few and theres one nearish me a 93' 2.3i but the guy says the following

has slight cam tap, the engine runs great, the knock is at the top, it has low oil pressure getting to the cam shaft, otherwise there is lots of power in the engine

says the car has 17,393 miles, but i think he may have that wrong, prob 107,393 or even 170,393 waiting for confirmation

im not mechanically minded, does this sound like a walk away or could be fixed at low cost, any ideas

cheers paul

I'd be worried about the oil pressure. I wonder how the seller figured that.

Adjusting the cams isn't terribly hard (see the videos section). If the oil pump is to blame though, it's a big job to fix. Not something that can be done without a lot of work.

Sounds a little bit sketchy to me, especially for a Honda engine. I'd be wary.

Already said, but my 2 cents would be to Run away! Run Away! Run Away! >.... Good decision you made on that one.
