98 Prelude wont start after not using it for 10 day

Post by ofallah »

Hi, I had to let my car sit for 10 days. and the car would not start now. Battery is strong, and turns the engine without any hesitation, It does not seem to fire on plugs. When I took one of the spark plugs out to do spark check, I only saw two sparks at the begining, and no more. Changed sprack plugs, cap, and rotor to no avail.
Where should I start at?
Is this is a dealer job, or can I use my own multimeter and start troubleshooting?

Thanks much for reading, and appreciate all feedback.

Regards,
Oscar

Can you hear the fuel pump priming when you turn the key to the ON position?

Hi. I losened the fule line, and saw fule gushing out when turned on the ignition key. Is that good enough, or should I take a listen for the pump in the trunk?

Thanks.

Hi again. Is it possible that the timing belt has jumpped or broke? How can I tell if it has? Thanks.

Nope, that fuel check should be enough.

Easiest way to check the belt would be to just pop the valve cover or one of the timing belt covers off and take a look.
